” Lamplight “
“As evening approaches, the luminous glow of a late August afternoon floats into the half-light of dusk.
Warm air is cooled by the flow of wet breezes from offshore, casting a dew over the grasses.
An oil lamp gradually transmits it’s energy, casting long beams of light over open waters until dawn.
After the day’s blush has long gone, far-off lights glimmer as if from a Christmas tree, flickering with the night air.
Overhead, a blanket of crisp white stars tucks the island in to sleep, until morning light heralds the cycle again.”
